Dear Friends and Supporters of Aaron,

It is my life’s greatest honour to have known Aaron. I am also forever grateful to God that I was given the chance to be one of Aaron’s closest friends and to share and witness his passion for music. To have known Aaron at such a deep level changed my life forever. His compassion and perseverance are unmatched by anyone that I have worked with and continue to inspire me even now that it has been almost one year since his passing.

Aaron and I had a dream that one day our music could change the world and touch hearts. We have also faced many challenges today in our pursuit of such a dream. The reality of the music dream can sometimes be cruel and unforgiving. Aaron and I understood that in order to succeed we must work harder than others and take every opportunity that came our way with diligence and sincerity. At the time of Aaron’s death we were preparing his solo career. Because Aaron was more well-known for his work in the local rap group Am3ition, starting a solo singing project had proved to be very challenging. Aaron worked very hard to develop a new singing and writing style. And although Aaron had already so many performances and songs under his belt, he was always eager for the next challenge. Aaron was always eager for the next time to step onto the stage to perform for us his songs. Unfortunately on August 24 2008 our dream was cut short and now the world can never again be able to see Aaron’s brilliance on the stage.

Aaron left behind a legacy unfulfilled. Aaron’s love for his family, friends and supporters will never be forgotten. With the help of loving friends and advocates (myself included), the family of Aaron has created an organization called Aaron Chan Academy (ACA) to continue this legacy. The goal of ACA is to help young children of our community to pursue their ambitions and dreams in sports and music. ACA hopes to help children understand and realize the harm of youth violence through the many programs and events it plans for the community. ACA hopes to lead by example and create a safer future for the talented and ambitious youngsters and encourage them to dare to dream big like Aaron. Please give us your support and visit the ACA website often. We hope to share with you Aaron’s songs, pictures, life stories, and purchase products that will benefit the young children that follow in Aaron’s footsteps.  Aaron’s true legacy is the impact that he had and continues to have on us. Aaron’s dream now lives on through us all.
